Soka Funeral Services Setup

Our Soka Funeral Package is usually less costly to stage because the setting is usually more in line with the minimalist trend of modern funerals.

The Soka Funeral differs from traditional Buddhist funerals in that:

  • Soka members rather then Buddhist monk leads the chanting
  • The deceased secular name rather than bestowed posthumous Buddhist name , is used on memorial tablet as well as in the funeral ceremony.

Package Price (HDB Void Deck)

The prices below are for Soka funerals held at HDB void decks

  • $4,588 for a 3 day Soka funeral
  • $5,088 for a 5 day Soka funeral
  • $250 for each additional day thereafter, up to a maximum of 7 days in total

Casket Area Set Up

  • White tentage setup, curtains and carpeted flooring at the casket area
  • Surround canvas (2 piece)
  • Soka funeral backdrop, decor and alter setup

Tables and Chairs for the Wake

  • 10 round tables and 15 square ones
  • 100 plastic chairs

Fans and General Lightings

  • 2 large standing fans
  • 4 small fans
  • General lighting for the whole void deck wake area (inclusive of running of electrical wires)

Mobile Toilet

  • Mobile toilet (1 unit) will be provided throughout the wake

Included in Both HDB and Funeral Parlour Packages

In addition to the above, the following items will be included in all our funeral packages (ie be it HDB or Funeral Parlour setup)...

Casket

  • A polished wood finish casket (with glass) and with choice of either light or dark wood colour (for basic package)

Collection and Preparation of the Body

  • Collection the body from either home or hospital to our office
  • Embalming of the body at our professional embalming theatre
  • Cosmetology services inclusive of hair and makeup by our experienced morticians
  • Dressing and casketing. Family to provide clothes for the deceased. Alternatively, you can get clothes from us but there will be additional charges
  • Transporting the casket (with body) back to the HDB void deck for casket area setup

Funeral Day Arrangements

  • Booking of cremation slots at Mandai Crematorium inclusive of cremation fees
  • Glass hearse to transfer Casket to Mandai Crematorium for cremation.
  • Pall bearer services

Funeral Photo Setup

  • 1 enlarged photo plus 6 passport sized ones
  • Wooden photo frame to house the enlarged photo (size: 10 inches by 12 inches)
  • 1 floral wreath to line the photo frame (size: 11 inches by 13 inches)

Other Essentials

  • Floral arrangements using fresh funeral flowers
  • 1 air con coach to bring relatives and guest to Mandai Crematorium and back
  • 1 register book for funeral donations recording purposes

Important Note

  • Food and drinks are not included and will be charged on an “amount consumed” basis
  • Price quoted are for funerals held at HDB Void decks. Funerals held in homes or funeral parlour will require a customised quote with the price different due mainly to the differing tentage setup cost
