Taoist Funeral Package

A Taoist funeral package typically includes Taoist priest chanting, Taoist backdrop and decoration at the casket area, lanterns with lantern bearers on funeral day and burnt offerings like paper house, gold mountain etc, plus the usual items like casket, tables and chairs and floral arrangements.

Because Chinese funeral services and traditions tend to vary significantly between various dialect groups, a Taoist Funeral can likewise be very different, in terms of requirements and elaborateness. However, based on our 20 years of experience helping Taoist families with their funeral solution needs, we are able to customise a package suitable for the general needs of most Taoist families.

Package Price (HDB Void Deck)

The prices below are for Taoist funerals held at HDB void decks

  • $7,588 for a 3 day Taoist funeral package
  • $8,088 for a 5 day Taoist funeral package
  • An additional $250 for each additional day thereafter, up to a maximum of 7 days.

HDB Void Deck Funeral Setup (Taoist Theme)

  • Tentage, curtains and carpeted flooring at the casket area
  • Surround canvas (2 piece)
  • Taoist style backdrop and decor setup
  • 2 fresh funeral flowers bouquets for use at the altar area

Tables and Chairs for the Wake

  • 10 round tables and 15 square ones
  • 100 plastic chairs

Fans and General Lightings

  • 2 large standing fans
  • 4 small fans
  • General lighting for the whole void deck wake area (inclusive of running of electrical wires)

Mobile Toilet

  • Mobile toilet (1 unit) will be provided throughout the wake.

Casket

  • A polished wood finish casket (with glass) with choice of either light or dark wood colour
  • Taoist blanket and pearl are provided

Embalming and Mortician Make Up Service

  • Transferring of loved one from either home or hospital to our care
  • Embalming at our professional embalming theatre
  • Cosmetology services by our experienced morticians inclusive of hair and makeup
  • Dressing and casketing. Family to provide clothes for the deceased
  • Transporting the casket back to the HDB void deck for funeral setup

Funeral Photo Setup

  • 1 enlarged photo plus 6 passport sized ones
  • Wooden photo frame to house the enlarged photo (size: 10 inches by 12 inches)
  • 1 floral wreath to line the photo frame (size: 11 inches by 13 inches)

Taoist Chanting Services

  • A Taoist priest to lead the chanting during en-coffin, last night rituals and on funeral day itself
  • 3 to 5 Taoist Priest (based on deceased dialect group) will lead the last night rituals
  • Setting up of religious alter for the performance of rites and rituals

Paper House and Paper Products

  • Handcrafted paper house
  • Gold and Silver Mountains
  • Paper Maids (Golden Boy and Jade Girl)
  • Funeral Lanterns (With Surname and Age Inscription)

Funeral Day Arrangements

  • Booking of cremation slots
  • Taoist style glass hearse to transfer Casket for cremation.

Important Note

  • Food and drinks are not included and will be charged on an “amount consumed” basis
  • Ceremonial items such as joss sticks, joss paper, candles, white t-shirts and pants etc are sold on a consignment basis and billed separately
  • Charges for food offerings to the deceased will vary, based on dialect group requirements
  • Price quoted are for funerals held at HDB Void decks. Funerals held in homes or funeral parlour will require a customised quote with the price different due mainly to the differing tentage setup cost
  • A more elaborate setup can be arranged but at a higher cost
